Maggie Grace (born Margaret Grace Denig on 21 September 1983) is an American actress who is best recognized for her performances as Shannon Rutherford on the ABC television show Lost and Kim Mills in the Taken trilogy. Following the divorce of her parents her parents separated, she moved to Worthington in Ohio and moved at Los Angeles. Her first role came to her, as Rachel's Room's lead character in 2001, despite having a difficult time financially. In the following year, she was awarded a Young Artist Award nomination in 2002, for her role as fifteen-year-old victim Martha Moxley in the television movie Murder set in Greenwich. Grace played Shannon Rutherford on the Lost television show in 2004. The show featured her as the principal protagonist for two seasons and was awarded the Screen Actors Guild Award. Grace was dropped from the series in 2005 to focus on a more significant role in film, appearing in the film Taken alongside Tom Welling as Kim Mills in Taken. She starred as a character in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club in both 2007 and Taken (2008) with Liam Neeson. She reprised this role in Taken 2 (2013) and Taken 3 (2015). The actress also appeared in Alice as Alice in Malice in Wonderland which is the modern-day adaptation from Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace returned to the character as Shannon in two more episodes of Lost which included the finale of the series. In 2013 she appears in the sixth season of Californication. She portrays Faith as a groupie, as well as a model for actors. Hank Moody is played by David Duchovny. Her other roles include Secret Service agents in White House Down (2013 Action thriller) and musicians in Frank (2014, drama The Kindergarten Teacher 2018) in addition to her role as the kindergarten teacher. In 2021, Gyllenhaal has made her scriptwriting and directing debut with the psychological drama The Lost Daughter for which she was awarded the Venice International Film Festival's Best Screenplay Award and was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay.
